Newtown Arts Festival Returns for 11th Year September 22-24
With banners flying, and signature art by Kristine Humber, the Newtown Arts Festival, now in its 11th year, returns this year on September 22-24 on the grounds of Fairfield Hills.
The festivities will begin with music under the stars on September 22, from 6-10 pm.
The festival offers 60+ artisans, music all day long, 10 food trucks and a beer and wine garden. Ensembles from all fields of the arts will be sharing their performances and the Festival’s well-known “Freeway” will be offering free arts/crafts activities for kids.
Saturday and Sunday, (9/23-24) hours are 11am-5pm. Entrance is $5 for adults and $3 for children under twelve. There is free parking. All proceeds of the Arts Festival supports Scholarships for Newtown residents who are graduating high school seniors and Grants for Newtown artists and arts organizations.
With plenty of shade tents to enjoy the good weather, you can spend the day and immerse yourself in all the arts have to offer.
The Festival, sponsored by the Newtown Cultural Arts Commission, has grown from a local event in 2012, to now being the premier Arts Festival in Fairfield County. Eleven years ago, The Commission had a vision of a community centered event that would not only raise money for scholarships and grants but would also share the many joys of the arts with the community.
