FAIRFIELD, CT — The Fairfield International Food Fest returns for its second year on Saturday, September 5, 2026 (Labor Day Weekend), taking over Fairfield Theatre Company (FTC) for a full-day celebration of global food, culture, and community. Designed as a late summer destination event for Fairfield County, the festival brings together a curated lineup of 12 local food vendors serving dishes from around the world, including Caribbean jerk chicken, Puerto Rican pinchos, Indian specialties, Greek gyros, British comfort food, Italian classics, and more, alongside a full schedule of live cultural entertainment and interactive programming. Programming spans the entire FTC space, indoors and out, creating a multistage experience. Highlights include international documentary screenings in StageOne presented in partnership with Bridgeport Film Fest, live music and cultural dance performances on the outdoor stage, and headliner bands performing in The Warehouse. “We created the Fairfield International Food Fest to bring people together through food, music, and shared experiences,” said Debbi O'Keefe, founder of ConnectFairfield. “In just its second year, it’s become a true reflection of the diversity and energy of our community, a place where you can try something new, spend time with family and friends, and experience cultures from around the world, all in one day..” The event is designed to appeal to both families and adult audiences, with hands-on activities including a kids’ passport experience, face painting, henna art, a Heritage Chalk Mural, and “Around the World” photo installations. Admission includes access to all performances, films, and activities. A dedicated 21+ tasting lounge will feature complimentary samples of wine, beer, and spirits from local partners, while food will be available for purchase throughout the festival grounds. The Food Fest is supported by a growing group of community partners, including Fairfield U, Arts & Minds, Sturges Ridge of Fairfield, Elicit Brewing Co., First County Bank, and The Goddard School of Fairfield, with additional partners to be announced. Proceeds from the event will benefit Fairfield Theatre Company, supporting its year-round programming and commitment to the arts in the region. Tickets go on sale in June. Availability is limited.
