An Incredible Lineup of Veteran Comedians

Thanks to Connecticut Comedy for Cash, we’ve secured an outstanding roster of talent this year! Meet our featured performers, each bringing their own unique style and experience to the stage:

Headliner: Johnny Watson (U.S. Navy Veteran)

A Navy Veteran turned comedian, Johnny Watson is known for his dynamic and relatable humor. A true “nice guy” comic, he effortlessly connects with audiences, delivering a clean yet edgy performance packed with charisma and quick wit.

Growing up in a tough New Jersey neighborhood, Johnny used humor as his survival tool. Despite graduating at the bottom of his class, his grandmother saw his potential and suggested a career in comedy. The military helped him refine his craft, and today, Hollywood casting director Dean Fronk calls him “a star in the making.” Comedian Adam Ferrara has also praised Johnny for his ability to consistently deliver laughs. With his honest, self-deprecating humor, Johnny is sure to leave the audience in stitches.

Co-Headliner: Jody Fuller (U.S. Army Veteran)

Jody Fuller is more than just a comedian—he’s a soldier, speaker, and writer with three tours in Iraq under his belt. Beginning his military career as a medic, he later returned after 9/11 as an officer, eventually reaching the rank of Major in the Army Reserves. His service has taken him across 15 countries, where he has entertained U.S. troops with his sharp wit and motivational storytelling.

A native of Opelika, Alabama, Jody overcame childhood poverty and has navigated life with a lifelong stutter, turning these experiences into comedic gold. His resilience and humor have made him a sought-after performer for military groups, nonprofits, and corporate events. He has been featured in 11 Chicken Soup for the Soul books and was named one of GI Jobs Magazine’s "Veterans taking the comedy world by storm." No matter where he travels, Jody proudly calls Opelika home.

Opening Act: Steve Scarfo (U.S. Army Veteran)

A 25+ year veteran of the Boston Comedy Scene, Steve Scarfo brings high-energy humor and a unique perspective that keeps audiences roaring with laughter. Recognized by The Boston Globe after his very first performance, Steve has performed at some of New England’s top venues, including Laugh Boston, Nick’s Comedy Stop, and the Comedy Connection.

He has shared the stage with national comedy legends like Dave Coulier, Victoria Jackson, and Jeff Dunham. Beyond stand-up, Steve has also made appearances in films such as Fever Pitch, The Departed, and The Fighter, as well as several independent projects. As a proud Veteran, he continues to bring laughter to audiences across New England.
