The Lightfoot Band is coming to the Edmond Town Hall on Friday, August 29.

The Lightfoot Band   is not a tribute act—these are the original musicians who recorded and toured with Gordon Lightfoot for decades. The band features Rick Haynes (bass), Barry Keane (drums), Mike Heffernan (keyboards), and Carter Lancaster (guitar). The band is joined by Andy Mauck on vocals and guitar, honoring Lightfoot’s legacy while playing Gord's trademark Martin D-18 and Gibson B-45 guitars.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Edmund Fitzgerald tragedy and Lightfoot’s iconic song inspired by it. The Lightfoot Band   delivers unforgettable performances of this and other classics, including “If You Could Read My Mind,” “Sundown,” “Early Morning Rain,” and deeper cuts from Gordon’s catalog - some of which haven’t been played live in decades. The Lightfoot Band   brings a rare authenticity to Gordon’s music, having performed it live at legendary venues like Carnegie Hall, and Royal Albert Hall, and on shows like Saturday Night Live. Every performance is enriched with stories from the band’s years alongside Gordon, offering a deeper connection to his life and music.

After the show, fans have the unique opportunity to meet the musicians, share their memories, and connect with the legacy of one of the greatest singer-songwriters of all time.

Danbury, CT – The Danbury Library invites the community to join in a vibrant celebration of Diwali, the Festival of Lights, on November 8, 2025 from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at the library , 170 Main Street. This engaging program will explore the rich culture and traditions surrounding Diwali, a significant festival in Hinduism as well as in Jainism and Sikhism, celebrated by millions around the world. Diwali symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. The celebrations, which occur between mid-September and mid-November, typically last for five to six days and feature a variety of cultural activities. This year, the Danbury Library will host an array of exciting events, including storytelling sessions that illuminate the significance of Diwali, hands-on craft activities, henna painting, mindfulness practices, demonstrations of dancing, and a delightful exploration of traditional garam masala spices. “The library is thrilled and proud to celebrate as both a joyous festival of light and a chance for the community of Danbury to learn about the rich traditions and stories that illuminate it,” said Douglas Lord, the library's project coordinator. With approximately 6% of Danbury's population, or 5,400 residents, identifying as Asian, the Indian community contributes significantly to the city's cultural tapestry. Past Diwali celebrations at the Danbury Library have garnered praise from attendees, with one participant stating, "The event was a beautiful blend of culture, color, and community - a true reflection of the spirit of Diwali." Everyone is welcome to participate in this family-friendly event, which promises to be both enlightening and enjoyable.
