The First Congregational Church of Stamford Presents “Blues & Beyond” A Musical Journey Through African American History

Stamford, CT: The First Congregational Church of Stamford is proud to welcome The Blues & Beyond for a special FREE concert on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 6:00 PM.

More than a performance, Blues & Beyond is led by Creative Director Eric Finland, a classical and jazz pianist who holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Performance from Berklee College of Music. The performance is a compelling musical exploration of African American history—told through song. From early field hollers and camp meetings to spirituals, the Blues, and the roots of today’s popular music, this experience traces how music became both a mirror and a megaphone for the African American story in the United States.

Music and history are inseparable. Through rhythm, melody, and storytelling, Blues & Beyond invites audiences to reflect on where we’ve been as a nation, how far we’ve come, and how much further there is to go.

Admission is free, but space is limited.
