Alive at Five Concerts Conclude on Thursdays, August 8 with Wyclef Jean
Get ready for Wyclef Jean as he takes over the Poland Spring Stage in Mill River Park on Thursday, August 8! This concludes the Alive at Five Concert series for 2024, and it's going to be epic! 🎉
The three-time Grammy Award-winning, Golden Globe, and Emmy-nominated Wyclef Jean has been a powerful force in pop culture for over two decades. As a solo superstar and founding member of the Fugees, Wyclef has written, performed, and produced music that has left an indelible mark on the industry.
In 1996, the Fugees released their monumental album, "The Score." Since then, Wyclef has released eight solo albums that have sold nearly nine million copies worldwide, including his 1997 debut "The Carnival."
In 2019, Netflix announced an untitled animated project based on Wyclef’s childhood in Haiti, co-produced by Greg Silverman's Stampede company with Wyclef as the film's composer.
In 2020, Wyclef ventured into podcasting as the host of "Run That Back," a unique weekly show for music lovers where he interviews heavy hitters from music, sports, politics, and beyond. That same year, he teamed up with Google to create a jingle for their #BlackOwnedFriday campaign, which supports Black-owned businesses during the holiday season. This campaign won a Webby Award and was nominated for a Clio Award.
In 2021, Wyclef founded SodoMoodLab, a jingle and scoring company. His most recent project with Sodo includes composing for seasons four, five, and six of Showtime’s "The Chi," created by screenwriter and actress Lena Waithe. During Summer 2023, Wyclef hosted the annual Caribbean Music Awards in Brooklyn, New York, and became Co-Chair of the Music Advisory Board of the Harlem Festival of Culture, an annual NYC festival celebrating Black music, culture, and pride.
Most recently, Wyclef partnered with the leading retirement planning company TIAA to release "Paper Right," featuring Pusha T, Lola Brooke, Capella Grey, and Flau'jae. The TIAA x Wyclef campaign raises awareness among America’s youth about the importance of financial independence, especially the 54% of African Americans who may not have enough funds to retire comfortably. All proceeds from "Paper Right" streams are being donated to the non-profit organization First Generation Investors, which empowers underserved high school students with investing literacy.
Don't miss out on this unforgettable night with Wyclef Jean as he raps up the Alive at Five Concert Series on Thursday, August 8 at Mill River Park, Stamford.
