STAMFORD, Conn. — The Stamford Museum & Nature Center will celebrate its 90th birthday on Saturday, June 27, with a full day of programming, discounted admission and special activities for visitors of all ages. The special day features $9 admission for non-members (members always visit free), free snacks, special animal encounters and additional programming throughout the day. The event is designed as a thank-you to the community; the backbone of the organization, sustaining 90 years of inspiration, discovery and learning. “We’re turning 90, and the party is all about YOU!” the organization said, announcing the event. As part of the festivities, every 90th visitor entering the grounds in the days leading up to Saturday will receive a surprise. As a special nod to the institution’s founding, both regularly scheduled Stamford Skies planetarium shows at 2 and 8 p.m. on June 27 will feature a look back at the night sky as it appeared 90 years ago. Under the dome, visitors will experience the night sky exactly as the museum’s founders would have seen it on opening day in 1936. BRIDGEPORT, CT – The Barnum Festival is excited to announce the finale of June Events, featuring Free Family Fun with community celebrations, family-friendly entertainment, fundraising events, and beloved traditions across Greater Bridgeport. The final four June highlights include the Wing Ding Parade, Skyblast Fireworks, the Community Health Fair, and the Great Street Parade, each event supports Barnum Festival activities and scholarships.
